We build tools that read the signals the earth already emits and translate them into intelligence that organizations can act on.
Aperture develops proprietary earth observation technology with applications across agriculture, defense, and environmental monitoring. We push the boundaries of what can be observed, moving from the surface into the soil, through canopy cover and into the subsurface environments that conventional observation cannot reach.
Our technology platform is built on a single core insight: low-frequency radio signals interact with the physical world in ways that no other sensing modality can replicate. We've built the hardware, processing, and analytics infrastructure to turn that interaction into usable intelligence.
"What started as a question about soil moisture became a platform for sensing the physical world at a depth nothing else can reach."
The Aperture technology was developed in response to a straightforward problem in irrigated agriculture: existing data sources couldn't tell farmers what was happening below the surface with the resolution and frequency that irrigation decisions require. The solution, low-frequency radio sensing, turned out to be capable of far more than soil moisture monitoring.
That same technology now provides critical sensing capabilities for defense and government clients, and forms the foundation of a growing platform for environmental and sustainability applications.
Most companies choose between commercial and government markets. We designed for both, because the technology demands it, and because the rigor of each makes us better at the other.
Agricultural customers demand accuracy that shows up in yield and water bills. That commercial pressure drives a level of data quality that carries directly into our defense applications.
Government applications require hardware and data that work in demanding conditions without failure. That reliability standard feeds back into our agricultural products.
We validate our data. Not modeled outputs. Actual ground-truth validation. Our claims about what's below the surface are backed by physical measurement.
From the sensor hardware to the signal processing algorithms to the analytics interface, we build and maintain the entire system. No black boxes, no third-party dependencies at critical layers.
We don't ship modeled estimates as though they're measurements. Our outputs are validated against physical reality, and we're clear about the difference.
The field, the ops center, the boardroom. Our technology needs to be useful in the specific context where it will actually be used, not just in ideal conditions.
We work closely with our clients to understand the specific requirements of their environment. Aperture Payload and Soil Moisture deployments are collaborative. We stay engaged well past implementation.
Whether your need is agricultural, governmental, or environmental, let's talk about your use case.
